Trust in God..

A little story i wrote, that I'd like to share...

On October 5th 1991, a little angel was born with her proud parents overwhelmed
with happiness to receive her. This little angle was given the name Jenna. Jenna had
big blue innocent eyes, rosy cheeks and smile to die for. As a baby she never really cried
and somehow seemed born to make her parents smile. Somehow, someway every single day of
"moms" and "dads" life seem to be perfect since Jenna was born.

Jenna grew into a beautiful little girl, at the age of 5 she was everyones favorite. One day Jenna's mom received a call from the Montessori. Jenna had fainted and was in the the clinic nearby. The worried parents rushed and when they opened the door, Jenna popped her little bubbly smile.

The doctor however, did not look too happy. He got the nurse to took Jenna to the playroom and got her parents to sit down. "What I'm about to tell you won't be easy for you to accept but, I'm afraid I'd have to say this......Jenna's shows signs of leukemia. Immediately "mom" brokedown and cried, she couldn't take it in . "But to confirm, you'd have to bring her to the hospital to do more tests...please be prepared..." "Mom" wiped her red teary eyes and walked out of the doctors room. The sad parents looked painfully as they saw Jenna playing cheerfully in the playroom.

Jenna was brought to the hospital for blood test and etc, all which were painful test but Jenna took it in bravely, she never complained or shed a tear. All she would say was, " gimme a candy and I'll give you a smile" and she giggled. Seeing their little angel keeping all the pain burnt a hole in their heart, the parents tried their best to put a brave upfront. The report came out, the once of the doctor seemed like an echo in the mind of the parents..."we're sorry, but she has leukemia, the percentage of children surviving from this disastrous disease is very minimal. Please be prepared...Jenna won't know what's happening to her body, she'll feel pain and lost of appetite as the treatment goes on.....

Jenna went for he treatment, no matter how much pain she undergone, she never complained...with her bubbly smile and her joyous character she's just say, "gimme a candy and I'll give you a smile..." Days passed, the healthy Jenna soon looked like a walking skeleton, her skin turned black from the drugs and treatments, she started getting very tired and didn't have the energy to play like normal children any longer. However, never have she uttered a word of complain.

Jenna could no longer stay in her house, now her new home was the hospital. Everyday her parents would come and visit her and she would again pop out that beautiful smile of hers. As the days passed, Jenna seemed to be disappearing, though she would try to put on the best smile she ever has however, her eyes read the pain. One evening, Jenna's parents again came and visited her, they made her bunny sushi's to cheer her up. As they were eating together, she held her parents hand and said, " mommy, daddy, i know I'm going to die..but don't worry, it's just my body that's dying..I'm not really dead alright? I'll be like the wind you feel everyday brushing against your face and the air you breathe..never ending..and when it is time for you to go, you'll see me right up there..." Uncontrollably, Jenna's mother broke down in the arms of her father..they did not know who or how would Jenna understand the words of her parents but they somehow felt that she meant what she said. "You won't die sweetie, the doctors are doing everything to save you...." said her dad. " No daddy, i know, don't worry..I know what's happening to me..God told me..he told me last night, he said that he'll take away my pain and bring me to heaven so that i can wait for you there."

That night, her parents went home silently. Neither of them uttered a word, they just lay down on the bed, arm in arm around each other and wept as they know their daughter's time is coming to an end. A week later, after visiting Jenna in the hospital her parents went home. Jenna seemed cheerful today. She was like a butterfly. One thing she said, " mom, dad...i want you to always remember my smile."That night they smiled as they remembered Jenna's smile.

The next morning, at 6a.m the worried parents received the call they had always dreaded. It was from the hospital."Mrs.Simmons, this may be Jenna's final...." before the nurse could finished they were on their way. As they opened the door, Jenna popped her cheerful smile..but somehow this time, her cheerful smile seemed lifeless. She was weak.Very weak, but she till smiled.

The doctor looked at them, this time with tears in his eyes...he had been so emotionally attached with Jenna since the day she came into the hospital, and so were the nurses..Jenna somehow became a part of their lives, she was like family. She would never fail to put a smile on everyones face, she somehow had a way, a charm with people.

Jenna looked at her parents, and reached out for their hands..she softly said, "God told me he'd take away my pain and he'd looked after me, and I'd be able to see you from above..I can look at you and smile everyday..and all you have to do is just look up and smile at me...You have loved me so much mommy..daddy...so please don't forget to love each other and everyone around you....I may be little, but i know i don't have much time, that's why i smile....i smile to make others smile...i want to live a happy life..and i did..." she gave a slight coughed...she looked at the doctor and the nurses...popped her smile again...this time gently turning to look at her parents..."God gave me....a wonderf....ul...pres...ent...it was you tw...o....I LOVE YOU....."She gave her one last smile..this time it was the most beautiful smile ever...and she closed her eyes forever.....She died smiling, and lived smiling...tears were shed that day, but her words were never forgotten, all those affected by her, lived to smile and cherished their lives everyday.

A year passed.......................

Mrs. Simmons was pregnant again...as she was packing most of Jenna's stuff in her room, she sat by the window, staring at the snow flakes as they gently came from above and fell onto the ground.."how pretty it looked" she thought to herself..Just then she thought of Jenna..her little angel who smiled all the time, she imagined seeing Jenna's reflection in the sky, her lil'll bubbly smile.Mr.Simmons walked in..he looked at his wife and knew what was on her mind, he walked by her side and hugged her and said..."i know she's happy up there..."As parents, of course they couldn't help but shed a tear, the pain of losing their lil'll angel..Just then, a beautiful little white dove flew in. It rested on Mrs. Simmons pregnant belly. They looked at each other and felt the warmness in their heart. They knew...the touched the little dove, as whispered,"we love you Jenna..always.."Looking at the dove, they could've swore what they saw was a smile and the dove flew away....

"Life is full of unexpected events, make the best out of it and smile to live"
